Position Overview:

OVU is seeking a highly analytical and mission-aligned Part-Time Data Analyst & Evaluation Specialist to help us track and measure the effectiveness of our programs and initiatives. This role is ideal for a data professional who is passionate about using insights to drive equity-centered work and is proficient in Tableau and Submittable .

You will be responsible for managing data systems, creating impact dashboards, supporting program evaluation, and providing data-driven recommendations that contribute to our organizational growth and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Management

  • Collect, clean, and organize data from multiple platforms including Submittable, surveys, spreadsheets, and internal databases
  • Maintain consistent and accurate datasets to track program outcomes and organizational KPIs
  • Develop and maintain organized data workflows and documentation

Tableau Dashboard Development

  • Design, build, and maintain compelling and interactive dashboards using Tableau
  • Use parameters, filters, calculated fields, and visual best practices to communicate insights
  • Create dashboards that support internal decision-making, stakeholder communications, and impact storytelling
  • Schedule and monitor data refreshes to keep dashboards up to date

Evaluation & Impact Reporting

  • Collaborate with program and leadership teams to define measurable outcomes, indicators, and evaluation strategies
  • Support the development of logic models, theories of change, and program measurement plans
  • Produce clear and concise reports summarizing program outcomes, trends, and key takeaways
  • Provide relevant data for use in grant applications, reports, and presentations

Data Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Perform routine audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of program and participant data
  • Document methodologies, tools, and definitions for consistency and repeatability
  • Monitor for gaps or inconsistencies and work with teams to improve data collection processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with programs, development, and communications teams to support organizational goals with data
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis and visualizations as needed
  • Assist with building data fluency and dashboard literacy among internal staff

Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, evaluation, or research—preferably in a nonprofit, public, or social impact setting
  • Proficiency in Tableau (Desktop and Online/Server) for building and managing dashboards
  • Experience with Submittable or similar platforms for data intake and grant application tracking
  • Knowledge of data cleaning and transformation using Excel, Tableau Prep, or SQL
  • Strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for advancing racial equity, economic justice, and supporting mission-driven work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in nonprofit impact reporting or social sector program evaluation
  • Familiarity with logic models, theories of change, or evaluation planning
  • Experience using survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Typeform, Airtable)
  • Comfort creating data documentation, SOPs, and training materials
