Johns Hopkins University Public Safety (JHPS) is seeking a highly motivated individual to be the Accreditation Manager for the Johns Hopkins Public Safety and Johns Hopkins Police Department. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating accreditation activities as assigned by the Sr. Director of Training and Compliance, as well as managing the policy writers for JHPS. The position will be responsible for performing analytical and administrative work to demonstrate the police department?s compliance with the professional standards established by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), and/or the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA); for law enforcement, and/or Public Safety Communications Accreditation. As well as working to maintain the certification requirements of the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission requirements for police officers, Special Police Officers and Security personnel.
The purpose of IACLEA and CALEA Accreditation to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by maintaining a body of standards, developed by public safety practitioners, covering a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives; establishing and administering an independent accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence. The Johns Hopkins Public Safety and Police Department is a responsive department to their community needs by being the leader in the provision of quality customer service and professional excellence.
